@wcjord What do you think about the usefulness of this feature? This isn't exactly like immersion mode cuz immersion mode was rendering a message to match user L2, and this is rendering a message to match user L1. In terms of technical implementation I believe the approach should be the same if we want to render a message base on user L1 or L2. That said, it'd be useful to be in a chat with someone and learn 2 different languages (i.e. user 1 learning spanish and user 2 learning english) |

Continued discussion from this: #1752
Messages of other users should be rendered based on representation of user L1. Currently it's rendering pangea representation that's baked into the message.
Example:
User 1: L1 - English, L2 - Spanish
User 2: L1 - Vietnamese, L2- English
In a group chat: user 1 sends a message in spanish, user 2 will see user 1's message as a spanish message. The expectation is for user 2 to see user 1's message in english.
