We could have relayers rewarded in just one currency, most likely source currency and use some open market mechanism for price discovery.

For example, there could be multiple relayers bidding for some relay-time-window where the lowest bid wins. That winning relayer is active during that window and is paid the auctioned rate for each message delivery. Failure to relay at some minimum rate could result in a slash.

The relayer is responsible for its own economic calculations, currency conversions, etc; all the chain/bridge cares is about who can offer the lowest bid.
