There is a convention in PatternFly to used a dotted line to indicate that an item can be clicked to trigger a popover with details about the object. This appears in the description lists and Progress stepper. We have received feedback from products that this pattern does not clearly communicate that the object is interactive.
Another established pattern is the info/help icon next to a field. The downside of this approach is heavy use of icons in a form and it adds another clickable button for keyboard users to navigate.
