Wizard step navigation on a small window does not utilize the expected interaction

This is an issue with

  • Patternfly 5
  • Patternfly 6
  • other

Please give a clear and concise description of the problem. Which components are affected?
When a user has a wizard open at a small size the menu shifts to a dropdown. The user clicks on the dropdown to select a different step in the wizard. But the menu doesn't automatically close after new selection has been made. The user has to reclick the dropdown to close menu. This interaction is not intuitive and doesn't match the other PF selection/menu experiences.

How do you reproduce the problem?
Open wizard and reduce screen size until wizard steps appear in a dropdown. Click the dropdown to open the menu, click a different step.

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of the expected behavior.
I would expect the menu to close automatically once the user has clicked on a step from the menu list. This would match the current PF6 behavior for dropdowns and context selectors.

Is this issue blocking you?
List the workaround if there is one.
