I think it would be add support for TiDB to Everest.

There is a operator for TiDB available [here]) https://github.com/pingcap/tidb-operator).

From what I understood at the presentation during Percona Connect Amsterdam it should be easy to add more database flavors. However looking at the source code it looked like the current MySQL(PXC)/PostgreSQL/MongoDB things are quite intertwined with all other code. I didn't see any extension/plugin system. I also didn't see much documentation about how to add more database flavors.

Besides adding support for something else that could serve as an example for adding more databases could be useful. Maybe Valkey?

@dveeden that is a valid concern that we don't have extension/plugin system. It is on our radar to make it simpler.

On our horizon we want to add Valkey and Clickhouse. TiDB frankly was not in the list, but we might reconsider. It don't have any particular ETAs though to share.

Valkey or KeyDB would be amazing! Also clickhouse, we are using that quite a bit.
