  • Try to place the camera in front of the shooter. The camera will sense light changes whenever the shooter moves if it is to the side or to the side and behind. These light changes can make ShootOFF's noise filters less reliable.
  • Light sources are fine as long as they are casting consistent shadows. A light behind the shooter will make the filters less reliable if the shooter is moving. Similarly, a light on a ceiling fan will make the filters less reliable if the fan is on.
  • If you have a control panel to configure the camera, turn off auto white balance and auto focus and lower the camera's brightness. ShootOFF will try to compensate for these features, but the easiest way to get optimal results is to just turn them off.
  • Pay attention to how much noise you are getting on the webcam feed in low light conditions. Some webcams produce a lot of noise in low light conditions and therefore work better with a light on.
