Display view renders text/plain values instead of text/html

Using Plone 4.3.12 and p.a.textfield version 1.2.7 or 1.2.8, the display view of WYSIWYG widgets are rendered in text/plain instead of text/html. If I use RichTextWidget, I get the error:

"RichTextValue object. Did you mean X.raw or X.output"

I have tried this in a custom view form (dexterity.DisplayForm) and the default view.
