Event Listing on the Front Page should show start/end date #59
Comments
I would say that event information, in listings, should show event date |
Do you mean that it should be dependent on the plone.eventbasic if start and end date will be shown? |
@tisto The VLT does not come with an event listing and as we want to customize plone.de as little as possible I'd suggest to add an event listing to the VLT (also I don't see why there is no event listing in VLT). |
So that would make my PR (#63) obsolete. What are the reqs for an event listing? I just shadowed the SummarView but I think if you want a separate even listing there will be more changes (visually) right? |
FWIW, there was discussion about this issue at Axolote Sprint, and the data that should be displayed was captured in plone/plone.org#172. @skleinfeldt |
So we have slightly different solutions (start vs. start & end) for plone.de and plone.org. Can we unify them into one and put it directly into volto-core? |
I'll try to summarize in bullet points what is desired across all discussions. Feel free to amend.
Although no one has suggested it in either discussion yet, I think that having the following data in a listing is also important, mainly because of a few bugs mentioned in the Event Content Type PLIP.
It might be preferred not to display all event details in a listing. At the same time, now that I travel more and try to search for events on local cultural websites, I get frustrated by the lack of clarity in listings, so I would advocate for more detail in listings. Additionally when I want to attend online events remotely in a different time zone, I need those details to decide whether I can participate. If the event matches my criteria (title, brief summary, travel distance or online, start and end datetime), then I can quickly scan, or better yet filter those events. |
Sorry for causing confusion here. I just added this ticket as a reminder. We have to implement this in Volto core: |
