Official Stripe Solution Available

Stripe has developed an official Magento 2 module https://marketplace.magento.com/stripeofficial-stripe-payments.html This issue will be used for documenting the roadmap for deprecating this module and providing a migration path to the official integration.

Required Migrations

• Magento_Vault payments - If possible stored payment methods from this module should remain available to users after switching to the official module
• Stripe/Magento customer associations - I haven't reviewed the official module to know if this will be needed. My assumption is that the Stripe customer token attribute used by this module needs to be copied to the equivalent attribute in the new module.

These should be made available by January 2019

I tried both extensions and I chose yours.
The official extension doesn't works with only virtual products like in my case.
I will continue using this one.

@textarea That's good to know. I've been chatting with the developers at Stripe and will pass this feedback along. I know they are wanting to allow community contributions to their module, which I'm hoping to participate in.

Thanks for letting us know, have to laugh though, tried installing the official version and couldn't even get it to install so staying with yours for now.

I haven't tested the official module yet, but for what it's worth, I can see in the release notes that recent versions now support virtual products.

I just started evaluating the official Stripe module for my own store and encountered issues that make me not want to adopt it anytime soon. On the other hand, I've never had a problem with this module. @pmclain, I understand this won't be actively developed anymore, but I'm wondering if you'd allow those of us who want to continue using your code to become contributors so we can continue to fix bugs and keep the code up to date with future versions of Magento.
