The current adverse possession policy irreversibly transfers ownership of a plugin after a short period of the author's inactivity. This may be unacceptable to some people.

It is proposed that, instead of transferring ownership directly, we add an "abandoned" flag to plugins and display a link to the newly updated plugin. The new plugin shall take a different name than the original plugin due to technical limitations.
