Under cosmic, the options to swap between audio devices seem to be at the sound card level instead of device level.
I have both headphones (front panel headphones jack) and stereo speakers connected (line out, rear) to the same onboard sound card.
I don't appear to have the option to pick between the actual audio outputs like on gnome, both on the audio dropdown at the top of the DE and in the cosmic settings.
In gnome, for reference:
In cosmic there is only "starship/matisse HD audio controller" granularity.
