Describe the issue:

Copied from a user request: https://x.com/dickie_roper/status/1824193338976964913

Am I missing something or is there a way to get details (like date modified and size) in the file explorer? Is that true of VSCode also? - seems unbelievable. Its a great feature in RStudio

There is a highly upvoted feature request for this on the VS Code repo: microsoft/vscode#164033

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Open a folder
  2. Notice there is no updated/file size metadata in the file explorer, just the tree

Expected or desired behavior:

The user expressed interest in RStudio-like behavior:

Were there any error messages in the UI, Output panel, or Developer Tools console?
