For several days homekit shows not responding when the device is turned off and homebridge shows this message: This plugin slows down Homebridge. The read handler for the characteristic 'On' was slow to respond! See https://git.io/JtMGR for more info.

To deal with the slowness issue you could try running as a child bridge with latest homebridge version.
I no longer actually use this plugin so am not actively working on it.
