two different fields:
<ol style="text-align:justify;margin-top: -20px;margin-bottom: -10px;">
<li>The precise measurement of the magnetic dipole transition moment, M1, associated with the 6<i>S1/2</i> to 5<i>D3/2</i> transition in Ba138 ion as this turns out to be
the leading systematic error in parity nonconservation (PNC) measurement. Apart from this, I also tried to study effect of the stress induced birefringence across the viewports on the 2051 nm beam polarization as precise control of the beam polarization is a general concern in trapped ion PNC measurement.
</li>
<li>Yb atom spectroscopy: Construction of a single dual axis Yb vapor cell that can be used to simultaneously address the two laser cooling transitions in Yb atoms at wavelengths 399 nm and 556 nm respectively, thus finding applications in laser cooling experiments.
