They are hard to print/make because:

  • They are too big (expensive, prone to errors, take too much time to make)
  • The fittings need too much precision
  • It takes too long to glue them together

How can we improve:

  • Can we make big bases with small parts?
  • Make fittings larger and more robust
  • Use threaded inserts to screw bases parts together

A mixed technique solution like this would me nice. 3D printed fitting edges with mdf, plexiglass... they would be a lot cheaper and sturdier

I don’t think a cardboard solution would work, but maybe with a good design it even could get rugged enough
