I am using the latest git develop code 0d815b2 and have noticed that even after stopping tracking the extension still displays 'Stop Tracking'.
Perhaps it is by design at the moment but it would be useful to have Start Tracking that uses the last used activity.

Can confirm this behaviour; Debian 9.4 (stretch) hamster-applet 2.91.3+git20120514.b9fec3e1-2
Debian repos only provide the most recent version listed above.
I am able to start a new activity by going to the overview and double clicking the date.
I am able to continue an activity by clicking its > play button in the drop down.
