It would be good to have option to limit width like in Window Title plasmoid.

I second this. If you were to use an application with a large menu, it would push all the right-most widgets in the panel out of existence.

A small case is KDevelop. This case, only the clock is pushed a bit out of the panel.

A terrible one is BleachBit...

I must add that this occurs in Plasma. I took Latte Dock for a spin, the global menu would limit itself to the available space (as expected).
