I've been tossing around the following for quite a few years:
"A 404 is like an empty box of chocolates. Nothing is all you're gonna get." And overlaid on an empty box of chocolates (because, you know, why be creative when you can be literal? ;-).
Alternatively, some form of 404 haiku. The nature reference should be easy with "Forrest".
Or go super sentimental with a picture of Jenny's elm tree. Just because you can't find something doesn't mean it's far away (possibly link to or embed search form). How many 404s make you want to cry?
