Hi everybody! 👏

We all at Public Lab 🎈 - learn, grow, work, brainstorm ideas, contribute together so why not share about our weekly goals and the awesome work we have done at Public Lab with each other, so we can support and collaborate with each other better. We have a Community Check-In each week, where every community member can share something about their work from the past week and about their current week's goal 🎯 . You are also welcome to share fun-fact 😄 , new ideas 💡 , your learning goals ☑️.

We believe in collaborative efforts to support our community. We are running a learning platform which helps a newcomer to become a leader of tomorrow. 💯

Video games

Many theories and research have been made about the effect of video games in the brain, some says that it increase productivity and reflection, and other says that it make the person more agile and speed up his reflexes... but I like to think that it is the best way to destress, and spend a good time with friends and make a lot of new ones.
So what is your favorite video game, that you can spend hours on it ? or what is the actual one that you just discovered and that you like so much ?
Old and new ones are welcome, cause every game has his story, and every memory count 😄

For me is League of Legends wild rift, the mobile version of League of Legends, I like playing with friends and it is fun 🎊

This week's focus Issues

These are issues that are of high priority and requests from our
large community that use the software.

Big thank you for all the contributors, the Outrachy and the reviewrs 🥇 and good luck for the proposals, remember that most importantly is to participate and try, and it is okey to fail, just keep tryin 😃

🥳🥳🥳 New week and new Check-In 🥳🥳🥳
Thanks, @DalilaBA for opening this week's check-in! I would love to open the next check-in.

Wow, Gaming 🎮
I am not so much of a game fan. I really don't play games but I would love to learn how to play CHESS ♟️ I hear it's a very smart and interesting game. Would love to connect with anyone willing to teach me how to play, thanks!

@TildaDares @jywarren please I have difficulties picking an issue from amongst those listed above. Can I contribute to an issue that someone else is working on already? I noticed most of the issues are being worked on already even though not yet assigned to anyone specifically? Can I still contribute to that?
Also, can I also choose an issue that is not very recent like an issue that was opened in August, can I work on it? Thank you 🙏🏽

Hi @DalilaBA this is a great topic! Thank you! I used to play video games - actually the original Starcraft -- mostly with friends. These days I don't that much - maybe some board games, i guess! Back in the day I enjoyed Minecraft too 😄

These days I sometimes think of home improvement projects like Minecraft - like, cutting wood in my mother's garden, it's a pretty similar experience 🪵 🪓 - especially if you listen to the Minecraft themesong while doing it 😂

@Georjane - as I believe you've done an FTO already -- you can look through a variety of different types of issues. Maybe the ones that are marked as "fto-candidate" would make for good ones - they are of a complexity similar to that of regular first-timers-only issues, but haven't been formatted and prepared yet, but you already know that part of the process.

Of course, helping others with theirs is also really helpful. Many issues are labelled with add-code-links which means we are trying to add a link to the section of the codebase where changes will have to be made. this is itself a challenge, especially for newcomers, but if you've begun to find your way around the codebase, going through those and adding links can be a really helpful step towards finding a solution: add-code-links

Thanks for your interest in helping!!!! 🎉
