I've proposed an online indexing solution for PuppetDB in the ticket below and it could be added into this module.

pg_repack will ship with PE starting with 2018.1.7 and 2019.0.2. I've added #25 which enables use of pg_repack by default in those versions and above.

pg_repack is a much better solution than the script I made to try to workaround the issue.
