I often go to pypi.org homepage to search for packages. When doing so, the search field doesn't have the caret present. I need to click in the search field. That's very annoying. The homepage main purpose is basically to do a package search.
Describe the solution you'd like
Having the autofocus on the search field
Additional context
I think it's a no-brainer with no downside. A simple autofocus on the input field should do. I am willing to do the PR if needed (despite it's probably much worthier than maintainer does it).
