I like the idea of incorporating a slide rule, but likely beyond my art skills.

There are circular slide-wheels, typically used by pilots due to compact size. Anyway, the circular slidewheel may be a bit easier to incorporate into the logo. Could be as simple as adding hash marks around the edge of the pysat planet. Or maybe a couple inner circles as well like the actual slide wheel.

The ship is from Civ I, but something simpler would be better most likely. Also, rotate head 90 deg for full impact.
