Description

Hello there! I was trying out this package and came across this issue: some refactorings have been made since the last release back on November 2019. Are you planning to release these soon? Or maybe a pre-release version to try out the new changes?

I know I can build from source but eventually we will want to install this with poetry and add it to our CI pipeline.

Thank you!

Kind of related: Is there any reason why there hasn't been any release since 2019? I'm currently in need of unreleased features and wouldn't wanna run an unreleased version if I don't have to. @Julian

Just chiming in to say I've been wondering about this as well. Being able to use the --output flag in the cli would really be useful for debugging.

Forgot to ask this in my last comment, but are there any specific blockers or issues that you would like help with, @Julian?

I could pick up some work during the week and help out.

Thanks for the offer!

#681 was the main one I wanted to be sure was in, because enough time has passed. I put a commit for that one on a branch but CI was failing (due to a pip CVE... so unrelated... but now hopefully that's been addressed).

There likely are one or two other things that could use doing, I'll put together a list, but probably it's safe to push an alpha release of 4.0.0 to start getting feedback and then we can do a second with those 2 or 3 things. So yeah thanks, will follow up again with both that alpha release and a ticket or two that could use some help.

Sounds like a plan!

Apologies for the delay here folks.

I've pushed a first alpha version of v4.0.0a1 which should be installable in the usual way via e.g. pip install --pre jsonschema. Please provide feedback!

Looking forward to the release.

🎉

I just re-discovered #743, and was pretty confused until I realised that there hadn't been a release in so long. Might also be worth adding #746 to the changelog 😉

Yes! Good idea, will do now. (Some day I'll finally add newsfile support and not have to do this manually...)

Congrats! I know it's a big release, and supporting the new schema versions is exciting. Do you have a changelog somewhere that I can check for hypothesis-jsonschema?

There's one here: https://github.com/Julian/jsonschema/blob/main/CHANGELOG.rst#v400

Let me know if that's helpful or otherwise happy to add to it!

Or if you mean one for the drafts themselves? That's on the spec site but if you need a link let me know.

I was looking at the docs, as soon as I thought to look in the repo there it was 😍
