According to OGC WFS 2.0 the GetFeatureById-Response only delivers the plain GML-Object. GDAL/OGR is not able to parse this response without wfs container (e. g. wfs:FeatureCollection) correctly.
Possible improvment: Add an XSLT-preproccessing to add the origin wfs container.
