At the moment the ETM Dataset Manager needs three specification for power plants:
Full load hours
Electricity production
Efficiency
The ETM will calculate the installed capacity based on the flh & electricity production.
For (old) power plants that have not been active in that year there will be no electricity production, this means that no installed capacity will be present in the ETM. It would be nice to see all power plants in the base year reflected, then you know all plants that are already built and you do not have to build new ones (incl. costs).
Therefore, we were thinking that it would be nice to set the installed capacity in the ETM DM directly together with the full load hours OR the electricity production. I was wondering: is this possible? Then we probably have to add a new graph_method for capacity.....

Is it possible to directly set the installed capacity of power plants in the ETM DM?
Set capacity for power plants instead of full load hours
Jul 19, 2024
To summarise: installed capacities seem to be a more widely used point of reference for source data than full load hours for heat and power plants. Ideally we would therefore rework both ETLocal and ETSource, to accept installed capacities, instead of full load hours.
This is an enhancement idea that may be picked up at some point.
