Currently using :height gives fairly nice results:

The padding issue might be caused by something else.

@lebensterben do you still have the padding issue like in emacs-dashboard/emacs-dashboard#449? If so can you provide more details about your platform, Emacs version, Emacs compile arguments, etc?
