[BUG] new RF backend still causes OOM due to the usage of TemporaryMemory struct

The new RF backend still ends up allocating TemporaryMemory object, which is not required in this path. So, there are cases when even the new backend ends up crashing due to OOM.

Tagging @vinaydes who has a fix for this and will be filing a PR.
