I think this is not a bug because I used to get the same issue but the only problem was to open ports on the proxy device and launch a proxy daemon (e.g. squid for Linux) and then you’re good to go. Or just don’t use proxy.

Is there a tutorial or a procedure to do it on Mac?

If you’re familiar with Homebrew you could install it through a terminal and then configure it for the ports you need (in the conf file).
