Hi raz0red. Would be possible to have separate versions of the Neo Geo Pocket, Atari Lynx, WonderSwam (Normal and Color) and TurboGrafx 16 emulators like you did with your Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 emulators? I like separate emulators more than a mix of different emulators in one. I have seen that you don't work often in your emulators for the Wii (I don't know if it is for lack of time or if you lost interest, but it would be great to have you back again for some updates to your emulators for the Wii. Anyway, congratulations and thanks for the great job you have done porting all that emulators for the Wii.

Hi!

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't really thought about separating the emulators. But, it wouldn't be too hard to do. What is the reason you prefer them as being separate?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi raz0red!

Good to hear from you!

The reason is that I prefer separate emulators for all systems to keep all clean and things not mixed. I know that a lot of people will love to have this separate emulators too and I would be very thankful if you could make it reality.

These are the systems I would love to see in separate emulators, in order of importance for me:
Neo Geo Pocket,
Atari Lynx
WonderSwam (Normal and Color in the same emulator)
TurboGrafx 16

Congratulations, one more time, for the great job you have done for the Wii. Thank you!

Ah, yes, makes sense. Let me try to think of a way where the binary can be configured for different emulators. Meaning, one binary, but the ability to have it only emulate a single system. I can make the header graphic adjust as well. Would that work for you?

I really thank you for this. I'm very happy with the posibility of having this great emulators separated. My English is not very good to understand the technical part, but I think that what you said is exactly what I was looking for. The intention is to have a "new" app that will be executed for only NeoGeo Pocket (for a first example). It will have its menu to load rom, configure settings, etc...

I am down with this idea. Even if it remains a multi emulator for simplicity's sake or your own personal reasons, i really wished these were the "cores" that stayed, since there's no better emulator on the Wii that surpasses the usability and speed of WiiMednafen for:

  • Lynx
  • Neo Geo Pocket
  • PC Engine (CD)/TurboGrafx 16 (CD)/SuperGrafx
  • PC-FX
  • WonderSwan
  • Virtual Boy

Even the newly dumped Hyper Fighting (Street Fighter II port) runs okay on the Virtual Boy core, with some hiccups here and there!

I would like to see the "Super Nintendo Entertainment System / Super Famicom" ported to WiiMednafen, it would be interesting!

Since I'm new to github, I'm asking this question here. I translated Hacker.lang into Brazilian Portuguese, and made a musical composition for wiimednafen, with a theme for the wii channel, I would like to know where I can contribute these files so that if you like, you can share in your projects to be used in new versions.
