It appears that when using cellular data, the API request for IPv4 (http://api.ipify.org) fails to connect to its host, while it works perfectly fine when connected to a Wi-Fi network. Despite my efforts to find a solution, I have not been successful in resolving the issue.

I'm having a similar issue, ipify fails when on cellular data but when they jump on wifi the issue doesn't happen. They get an "unable to connect to ipify error" while on cellular data. I wonder if the issue is related.

Seen similar things on our end. One thing to note.
On http://api.ipify.org/ the request fails. But when the same user tries http://api64.ipify.org/ it returns a valid IPv4 address. Why would the one intended for IPv4 not work. We can't switch over because we can only use IPv4. Is there a way to only return IPv4 when using http://api64.ipify.org/

use http://api4.ipify.org/
