Wasentha wants to be able to do more with her client information:

  • Generate class attendance check in sheet
  • Communicate on a class by class basis with an automated workflow containing class materials
  • Provide a place for students to track the classes they've taken

If we installed an LMS, she could sell classes instead of products. track pass fail, allow students to take quizes if she wanted to, provide homework, and do the other things in her list, I think.

I need @joelworsham and @d4mation to chime in here. There will be some other issues which will correspond with this one going into GitHub. This may address them.

With LearnDash (for example) she would still need another extension such as EDD to sell access to her courses. Here's a free LD Extension to integrate with EDD.

Although, she is selling primarily physical items: http://peacefuldragonschool.com/product-category/products/, so EDD may not be the best fit. It could be cumbersome for her to maintain both WooCommerce Products and EDD "Downloads" for course access. There's WooCommerce integration available for free with LearnDash as well.

I was looking at Sensei. Interesting capabilities that would integrate a lesson and a product. https://woocommerce.com/products/sensei/

I don't have any experience using Sensei, but I do know there's a line in our Gantt plugin specifically targeted at working around something weird Sensei does.

Just something to consider. It could be a good solution in this case to be sure. LearnDash certainly has its own coding/implementation problems as well.
