This was narrowed down to happening after hot-restart (a common operation during flutter development).

I happens because the App cache is not local to the isolate, yet it contains a reference to a Dart HttpClient.

After a hot-restart a new isolate is spawned, but the native App cache is intact, so the already registered HttpClient is used in a foreign isolate. This crash as expected.

We have had the discussion about the fallacies of the app cache before, and this is just one more nail in its coffin. I have opened an issue with realm-core.
