The last package release was in August 2019 version 4.0.0 and there's a lot of issues with compatibility since like #1051 that have not been merged. The last commits are dependabot.

What's the release cadence or is it suggest to compile from source?

Curious about this as well. I am interested in an update to styled-system 5.1
