Jekyll is becoming a pain.

Suggested move is to Middleman for creation. Hosting is an entirely different question.

Hosting, perhaps just upload to a github pages hosted site ( all static, no autobuild ) or something on heroku. Could do nearlyfreespeech, but having the scalability that comes from github pages is nice. Maybe s3 hosted with cloudfront?

Static to github is the leading candidate.
