Under "Releases", it currently shows 2.6.0 as Latest on Mar 22, 2017

This should be updated to at least 2.8.1 on Jun 26, 2019 (as of now Nov 13, 2020 1pm EST)

also the changelog is not referencing those versions. https://github.com/researchgate/gradle-release/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md

I was also wondering if the development is still done in this repo.

On the page:

You need to click on "Show 3 newer tags" :

To see the missing versions 2.7.0, 2.8.0 and 2.8.1:
