The way to go to enable installation for MacOS is to provide the binary via homebrew.

We should build a formular/submit a PR whatever is necessary.

The currently provided binary can not be run on MacOS as is, but:

On macOS, we can not simply download and run the binary, as macOS complains about an unverified app.
A user must do some additional steps described here.
We should either add a note to the readme or check if we can solve this issue somehow.

Maybe the macOS command line tool spctl can help? See https://github.molgen.mpg.de/pages/bs/macOSnotes/mac/mac_procs_unsigned.html and/or run man spctl. Probably
$ spctl --add /path/to/schema2000_macOS
can do the trick ...
