Does not disconnect and re-connect cleanly

When I disconnnect the capture using the INDI control panel then reconnect the camera is unresponsive and captures fail. The LCD shows PC mode and the INDI control panels reports it is connected. Restarting the driv er form EKOS does not work etither. The only option is to shut kstars ekos etc. down unplug cable from camera and start again.

I do not see this behaviour using gphot2 vis something like entangle that does not use the INDI drivers.
