printer firmware error reported: extrude only move too long (-10270.000 mm vs 50.00mm)

After a print job done successfully, the following print sent is triggering the following error message: extrude only move too long (-xxx.000 mm vs 50.00mm).
Would you know why?
The work around for now is to restart both the Host and the Firmware in the Klipper tab of Octoprint.
What should be the expected behavior?

Sorry, there's a couple different variants here - which printer.cfg are you using? Let me know the url location from this repository that you got it from so I can troubleshoot.

I try line 44:
variable_EndRetract: 0.0 instead of value = 2.0
Without success

I try also without variable in line 1085:
G1 E-2 F3600 instead of original line: G1 E-{EndRetract} F3600 ; retract filament
No more success (allways bad negative value).

after some try It seems that the negative value for extrude is close to the filament used (for a very small piece, Cura 5.21 said 0.09m and Error message is -77mm. For a biggest piece, the error was bigger (but I did not memorize the real values; i will do))

For the retraction at print end, try the following change, find:

    G92 E0                         ; zero the extruder
    G1 E-2.0 F3600                 ; retract filament

change to:

    G92 E0                         ; zero the extruder
    M83                            ; set extruder to relative
    G1 E-2.0 F3600                 ; retract filament

For connection error:
I try to change timeout values in octoprint setting, serial connection for polling and autoreport without success.
I try also to increase speed in "PARK TOOLHEAD" line 855 F3600 -> F7200, but no change and no success

I'm sorry - not sure what is causing these issues, have you tried running with just klipper, moonraker, and mainsail? I have read that some people get some odd stuff when using octoprint, but I am not sure if that is the case here as I don't use it.

For the retract filament, the other idea I have is to instead of placing M83 before the movement command, use G91 - and then G90 after it, something like this:

    G92 E0                         ; zero the extruder
    G90                              ; set to relative
    G1 E-2.0 F3600                 ; retract filament
    G91                             ; set to absolute

This modification (G90/G91) does not works.
I am pretty sure that the reported value is the filament consumed at printing.
Do you know where this value is computed? and where I can reset it to zero? Is it inside Klipper? If so is there a way to access and modify it?

I don't know how to run only Klipper, and I don't know what is moonraker or mainsail .

Anyway, I can 3D print, I'm not blocked. I just have to reload printer.cfg.

I believe you are correct, that for some reason the end retraction move is seen as a absolute position instead of a relative move, so it is trying to retract the filament at a length of entire consumed + 2mm, so it is rightfully giving an error. Until it is figured out, you can just comment that retraction line out by placing # in front of it.

I solved my problems:

1. As you said,I suppress extrude in print_end and put it diectly in gcode file, juste before Print_End
2. Communication errors: I reduced time in macro _tool_wait (time divide by 10)
   So now I have just to do retract filament inside Cura, or in an external routine to do that in gcode file.
