It should be possible to refer to other projects from within a project. This makes it easy to embed dependencies, since they can specify their own complicated layout and even custom configuration!

This is probably tightly related to #10, since nested projects should reload if updated.

We need this internally! It helps consuming dependencies, since we'll be able to target git checkouts directly instead of having to figure out where in the tree the source code is kept.
