Failed update doesn't print an error

Tried to 'update' an existing gallery with a new photo. Looked like it succeeded, but turning on the debug logging I see:

The bad gallery id is a separate problem (it shouldn't be bad). This bug is about the fact that the tool doesn't give any indication that the upload failed.
