As stated here, Github will no longer render .rmd files as Markdown. Is it necessary to provide a rendered version of the vignettes on Github? It certainly seems useful to have introductory docs available on github when users are deciding whether or not to use/install a package. Users that have already installed the package can of course just use R native or Rstudio methods for displaying the vignettes.
