I install from site not work
Install from git git clone https://github.com/rostegg/public-ip-gnome-extension.git ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/public-ip-extension@rostegg.github.com and after alt-f2 r not work
It's installed but not show.

At first, provide this info, because I need this to reproduce the error.

I advise you to remove the old extension, and then install the new version (better from the site)

And if it does not start working, provide the result of journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell -f exectuion (install extension, execute command, run alt-f2 -> r, then check report log messages).

Also, check the identity of the code in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/public-ip-extension@rostegg.github.com folder, in particular in extension.js and prefs.js files, and check that they match the code in the master branch.

Сonsidering, that I tested it on 3.26-3.36 versions of shell and the lack of issues reports, most likely, somewhere there is a conflict between the old versions of the extension.

So, pleasem provide the result of journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell -f, this will help me solve the problem as quickly as possible

Okay, just tested on few patches (3.34.1 & 3.34.3), it really does not appear, despite that I tested it for a couple of weeks ago and everything was fine.

Considering that the settings panel is displayed ok an extension doesn't produce any errors, the problem may be in the rendering panel (panel style), or even with new patch for 3.36 version, or something like this.

Since it doesn’t even give any errors, I’m not sure that I can quickly find and fix the problem.

So, for now, I can offer two ways to quickly fix this:

  1. Just upgrade(3.36)/downgrade(3.32) shell version. It definitely works for them, not only for me, but also for other users.

  2. Use extension from this branch. This is the old version that worked for you before the new patch. But, as i mentioned here, it likes to update itself to the latest version from the site. So, at first, delete the old extension (on site + check in folder), then manually install this version and disable autoupdate for this extension.
