Config of the docker-compose-fpm*.yaml

I'm not very familiar with docker yet and I started with docker-compose-simple.yaml, I configured everything with the ROUNDCUBEMAIL_* variables to connect to my DB-, SMPT- and IMAP-Server and it worked well out of the box. Then I switched to the *fpm* variant and it looks like this takes more configuartion effort. When I look into the running nginx config, the content of NGINX_HOST and NGINX_PHP_CGI=roundcubemail:9000 is not visible (or I'm unable to find it). The comment "Provide a custom nginx conf" is not an option, it is a must have? I'm uncertain, if I'm on the right track or if I got something wrong.

Our fpm-example should also work out of the box, without custom nginx configuration.

To help you we need more details. Does the fpm example work at all? What doesn't? Did you change anything before running it?

The value of NGINX_PHP_CGI is used in https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail-docker/blob/master/examples/nginx/templates/default.conf.template, which gets parsed and put into /etc/nginx/conf.d/default.conf.

The value of NGINX_HOST appears to be unused, actually. That would be a bug, but it shouldn't stop the example from running.

It works in general, but I get just the nginx welcome page. When I docker exec into roundcubenginx-fpm, my /etc/nginx/conf.d/default.conf looks like that:

The only thing that I changed is I do not use the DB.

I reanamed the services, because the simple version was also running and docker complained about duplicate names.

Ok. And what does your examples/nginx/templates/default.conf.template look like?

This file does not exist yet. I guess this is my mistake, I have to supply this file in the ./nginx/templates:/etc/nginx/templates volume, right?

Did you maybe delete it? Or are you working on a very old version of this repository?

I threw everything away and started from scratch, and now it works as expected. I can't say what went wrong. Thank you for your support and sorry for taking up your time.
