The letter l (i) and I (L) do not differ well.
Make the lowercase capital letter l round or a dash at the bottom so that it differs from the capital letter I.

Please open ss04 OpenType feature.
To freeze it, please install OpenType Feature Freezer (requires Python 3.6 or above), then run:

pyftfeatfreeze -f 'ss04' -S InterVariable.ttf
