Meeting at 4pm UTC on #rust-community on irc.mozilla.org. Last week's agenda.

Agenda:

  • RustConf, RustFest, RustBeltRust
  • Video channel, Twitter bridge, possible Facebook bridge
  • Facebook page?
  • Growing the moderation team (for future things like Slack, etc.)
  • Meetup alternative for users groups, Meetup got a huge price hike
  • The growing number of stray accounts the project has on platforms
  • Find a way to make regular tasks visible

Actionables:

  • @skade will set up a YouTube account for hosting official videos, and coordinate/share the credentials with people from RustConf so that we can consolidate conf videos. And disable all comments, for God's sake.
  • @bstrie will contact the people who own the Rust page on Google+ to see if we can get an official presence on there, in case we decide to start pushing it as a new venue.
  • @jonathandturner will file an issue here to centralize discussion regarding adding an official Slack channel for new Rust users.
  • @skade will start collecting a list of stray Rust accounts on various platforms so that we can start to manage them more effectively.
