This is a tracking issue for finding a long-term home for the Community Survey team.

Leads:

Hey there all, I'm James, the Leadership Council member for the Launching Pad Team, and as part of #118, I'm starting the triage process of trying to find permanent homes for teams currently under the launching pad.

In this first pass, I'm making tracking issues for each of the teams, starting the discussion on whether y'all think there is a reasonable team you think would make sense to move under, and in general checking whether the members of these teams are still actively working on things related to these teams.

There is also a separate tracking issue for the top level community team here: #128

I know the Survey team is still active, so no action required on that point! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to add them here, otherwise I will check back in once I've finished the first pass of pinging relevant teams.

Thank you!

hey James!

So, I've gathered some context about the Launching Pad initiave (RFC3392).

The way I see it, the survey team is an informal small group of volunteers that in addition to other things, also take care of the annual State of Rust survey and provides support to whoever wants to run a survey.

We are currently under the community team umbrella and while I am not completely sure about what this implies, I think the people in survey team are sufficiently represented in other team we serve in.

With regard to the last question (are all survey team members active) we'll probably going to discuss this and see if the roster needs to be updated.

cc @Kobzol for further thoughts :)

Thanks
