A very minor annoyance I've had with the app is that it prefixes the saved filenames with "Recording from ", instead of just naming them by date and time (also, the time is the end time instead of a start+end time range), and I end up having to manually remove the "Recording from " filename prefix on every file because it clutters my view in the file manager.
At first I thought that it's not a big deal because I was using the English version, but today when I used the French version of Reco I noticed that the way this prefix is worded is also misleading some translators when it comes to its meaning. In this case, the French version of the "Recording from" string was translated as "En cours d'enregistrement depuis ", which can be technically correct but actually means something completely different, because the English version of the string is ambiguous, it can mean multiple things. This translated French version was actually the equivalent of "Currently recording since ", which is not what was meant functionnally.
For simplicity and to avoid such confusion, my suggestion would be to not have this "Recording from " text before the date and time stamps, because it's not strictly necessary (it's redundant information especially if the recordings are all stored in a dedicated folder).
Alternatively, maybe the string could be something like:
%date_variable — recording from %start_time to %end_time
…or whatever the non-order-dependent strings substitution format syntax is in Vala. At least this would be clearer and give more control to translators.
