Android 6 Dependency

Hi,

Been looking for an app like this for a while! So glad something in the open-source world is around.

I'd love to try Saber, but my Galaxy S-Note is stuck on Android Lollipop unless I flash my own distro on it. I've been considering this, but reluctant to do so if I could lose proper support of my S-pen. I managed to instal a very early APK, but it seems that the current release (~0.16) requires Android 6 or higher.

I was wondering if this is a hard dependency, or is there any way Android 5 devices could be given some support, if any features needing the newer APIs were then non-functional for the older OS? Do you reckon much of the core functionality of the app hinges on the Marshmallow APIs?
