Remove specific image/slide

Hello - I've been trying for a few hours now to get this to work but I can't figure it out.

I refer to the following demo: https://www.lightgalleryjs.com/demos/update-slides/

This shows how you can add and remove slides, but this demo only ever removes the very first slide. I don't really see the point in this? Why is the delete icon on every slide if it only ever removes the first slide? I've been trying to figure out how to make it remove the slide that is selected but I've given up. I'd really appreciate some help in getting this working please.
