Missing File Field Data Type in SuiteCRM 8.x Versions (As well as in 7.x versions)

Feature

The "File" field data type is absent under the "Add Field" section in SuiteCRM 8.x versions. This feature would allow users to upload and manage file attachments directly within SuiteCRM modules. Currently, the only solution available is through paid add-ons in the SuiteCRM store: File Field and Multiple File Upload.

Context

The absence of a native file upload field in the SuiteCRM core hampers the ability to efficiently manage files in a customizable way. Users are required to resort to third-party paid modules to implement this functionality. This limits the flexibility of SuiteCRM, especially for small and medium-sized businesses that rely on the free, open-source nature of the platform. Adding a native file field would streamline file management, reduce reliance on external modules, and enhance the user experience for all SuiteCRM users.
